Converting "SNMP Traps" to "Active Alerts" in Solarwinds

Hi,

I am looking for a way to have" Active alerts" out of SNMP traps(For eg. BGP neighbour down ), Right now if I get an SNMP trap that I would consider to be critical it sends an email. It is not treated like an alert that requires acknowledgement. Let me know , how to convert SNMP traps to "Active alerts" in Solarwinds, so that alarm can be acknowledged and cleared by operator in Solarwinds

you can do it using a custom SQL query (search my posts on this topic),

but for a BGP neighbor down it's better to define a custom node table poller and alert from that

in 10.6 and later NPM collects routing neighbor status, but I have not used that for alerting (yet)
