Managing Hardware Sensor Thresholds

Question

I am setting up some hardware sensor alerts for fans, temperature, voltage, etc. for some equipment in our data center. On the "Manage Sensor Status" page, how does Orion calculate their thresholds? i would assume it calculates some sort of baseline and creates the thresholds on how much it deviates from that, but wanted to get some clarification.

Found this out from documentation which explains the statics are calculated from MIBs

Change the MIB used for polling hardware health statistics

Also from below link, it says thresholds are already configured on the device.

Use Orion Defaults

Use thresholds configured on the device. This is the default setting

Edit hardware health thresholds

If default setting values are not comparable to the real/original values then need to check for the change of MIB from which it is defined by default.

Yeah, i saw that. but the answer didn't seem to be definitive. do you know if there is any solarwinds documentation on this?
