A couple of problems with the Web Console

Hi,

I have two questions I hope somebody can answer.

First the facts;
I have just upgraded to version 8.5 including hotfix 1+2 (from version 8.0.2).
I have 5 polling-engines ( 2 x SLX, 3 x SL100) with a total of 11.000 elements.

After I upgraded I can't use the "overview" page in the web console - the header and footer shows just fine, but the main page is just blank. Anybody else experiencing this?

The configuration wizard for the SL100 version in version 8.5 doesn't allow me to skip installation of the web console on my remote pollers - actually I wan't to avoid installing anything else than the netperfmonservice.exe on a remote poller but can't find a way doing this. Any suggestions?

I just noticed this forum and it has already solved a couple of the other "funny" things in the new version - see this as a great way of sharing experience with the product!

By the way - if anybody from Solarwinds sees this post: You're "create ticket" page on the website has a broken javascript for the "submit" button - a bit annoying ;-)

Just FYI - had contact with the support. Apparantly the AspBufferingLimit had to raised from 4 to 8 megs - I just have too many interfaces ;-)

To fix, stop the IIS and IIS admin service; locate c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\metabase.xml and double the "AspBufferingLimit=<value>" (REMEMBER backup! If you corrupt this file your IIS won't work!).

after change is done start up the IIS and admin service and you're running again

Try posting a screenshot of what you are seeing? Reply->options. Is this a remote web server? Are you using SSL?

also which link for support is broken? I was unable to locate what you had mentioned.thx.

Screenshot added - the production site uses SSL yes, but the same behavior occurs, when I access the site through http://

The webserver is placed on the same machine as the primary SLX engine - but still the database on a remote machine.

If I fill the form i can't send the info with "submit form". Have tried both in Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2.

For the SSL try this workaround.

Edit \Inetpub\Solarwinds\Orion\custom.config and change the port to 443.

As for the Netsuite submit- It tested fine on this end in both browsers. Support is receiving ticket submissions. Not sure how locked down your network is but it appears to be something related on your end- You might want to call in if you cannot email a request.

Upon further investigation it turns out that there was an issue earlier with the ticketing system however it is operational now.

I had the same issue posting a ticket earlier today. I tried again a couple hours earlier, but haven't heard anything back. I assume it went through, otherwise I'll just submit another one tomorrow.
