Interface bandwidh utilisation charts show data intermittently

Hi Community,

We are facing a problem where interface utilisation shows data for some days and then no data for some and we see a warning Displayed data is obsolete as shown below, there was no data between 5th Aprt to 15th Apr, started to show up again from 15th to 21st and no data after that,

Could you please suggest what might be wrong here as I generate a report on some interfaces and reports coming back with no data.

Yep, I've had many issues with this. its a killer for us.

You must deploy the Orion monitoring template and look for high Job Results Notified counts. When its building, all performance stats DROP.

Here are results from a recent case I had on this - you should do the TCP/IP optimizations in the registry ASAP. Also, run that netstat command on your polling engine to check counts.

reg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters" /v TcpTimedWaitDelay /t REG_DWORD /d 0x0000001E

reg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters" /v MaxUserPort /t REG_DWORD /d 0x0000FFFE

reg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters" /v StrictTimeWaitSeqCheck /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001

1. Look for DCOM 10028 error

2. 719 counts of TIME_WAIT with netstat result as the following command:

netstat -ano | find /i "TIME_WAIT" /c

3. Shudown all services:

-Clear Informationservice Subscriptions

-Clear msmq storage folder

-Replaced Jobengines35 sdf

-Purge all stuck queues for RabbitMQ

4. Applied the changes for port Exhaustion

-Rebooted the VM

-Interface is now polling

5. Look at the SQL Database:

-No waiting tasks

-There is SQL Cluster always avail turned on and in Synchronized mode.

-Advised to not have any job run during 12AM - 2 Am so the Database Maintenance can finish

6. Ran the followings queries for fragmentation:

SELECT dbschemas.[name] as 'Schema',

dbtables.[name] as 'Table',

dbindexes.[name] as 'Index',

indexstats.avg_fragmentation_in_percent,

indexstats.page_count

FROM sys.dm_db_index_physical_stats (DB_ID(), NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL) AS indexstats

INNER JOIN sys.tables dbtables on dbtables.[object_id] = indexstats.[object_id]

INNER JOIN sys.schemas dbschemas on dbtables.[schema_id] = dbschemas.[schema_id]

INNER JOIN sys.indexes AS dbindexes ON dbindexes.[object_id] = indexstats.[object_id]

AND indexstats.index_id = dbindexes.index_id

WHERE indexstats.database_id = DB_ID()

ORDER BY indexstats.avg_fragmentation_in_percent desc

-Small tables with fragmentation but this is fine due to the fact that there is Replication process running on the SQL instance.

I would suggest opening a ticket with support I would also check the polling resource/widget on the node and see when was the last database update.
