I there anyway to setup hardware monitoring for supermicro servers in Solarwinds' Network Performance Monitor 12? There is no "hardware health agent" listed under resources.
Hi,
NPM can collect any SNMP stat. If it does not collect this stat (OID) automatically you can easily set it up.
To do this, you will need to use the Universal Device Poller (UnDP) utility which is part of NPM.
The UnDP allows you to input an OID or browse the MIB tree for OIDs you wish to poll on your devices. You can then test and assign these pollers in bulk to your devices. The results can then be transformed if necessary and displayed in various formats in any Orion web console page such as the node details view.
The UnDP can be found on your server by going to Start > Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Network Performance Monitor > Universal Device Poller.
I have supplied some links to information about using the Universal Device Poller below.

Wrong info in my initial question. We are running Server and Application Monitor. Please update you answer. Thanks.
Hardware health in SAM is from Dell, IBM, HP and VMware. Please see here for more info:
Configure hardware health monitoring
So, there is no way to use Sam to monitor in supermicro, what I can monitor on my dell servers?
Any update in 2018 ?
No change to this, still the same vendors. You can probably roll your own using the custom UNDP's if supermicro has them reachable via SNMP or build some script based SAM monitors but it wouldn't show up alongside the OOTB hardware health info. Unfortunately SM is just not a huge player in this space so they don't get a ton of dev attention.
After many hours of experimenting, I now have Orion NPM 12.3 polling Hardware Health details on an X10.
The MIB and OID package provided by SM website was inaccurate and had me waste weeks of time troubleshooting. I used the SNMPwalk utility to gather the actual OID's being used. Then crawled them for the strings i was looking for.
I then used those OIDs in the Universal Poller Utility and here's what I have below. Now i just need to get Alerts to work on this data.
Did you by chance upload your UNDP package to the content exchange?
