Account Limitations
rstier
Hi,
I would like to create an account limitation for a particular group that allows them to see all systems that start with the hostname of "NT". Easy enough by doing a node name pattern limitation of "NT*". In addition, there is about a dozen other nodes that I would like them to also see, all with various names.
I thought I could just create the first "node name pattern" limitation and then an additional "group of nodes" limitation with those dozen nodes selected. Is there a way to do this with SolarWinds? It appears by this statement you cannot:
"You can create Account Limitations that will limit the Network Devices this Account has access to.
If mulitple Limitations are added to this Account, the Account will be limited to only the Devices that match ALL Limitations. "
Thanks in advance,
Ron

Hi Ron,
It looks like you will have to add a custom property and add a description to all the nodes you want that group to be able to access. Then select that description in the Web admin "accounts" page.

I was afraid of that. Unfortunately that isn't very dynamic. At least by specifying the node name pattern of NT*, I can get newly provisoned servers automatically added to the view without the extra steps. Unfortunately that leaves out the few non "nt*" nodes I need them to see as well.
In any case, thanks for the response!
Ron
