Packet loss since Ver 7 upgrade
Rob
Since i upgraded NPM to version 7 i have been getting a lot more nodes with packet loss reported. I cannot reproduce any packet loss from the NPM server to these nodes using ping and a 1500 byte packet. Has anyone else experienced this problem ?

I had that problem but come to find out it was related to our network we had Cisco 6509s' in our core and the code had a bug that caused the switch to flood macs that were already learned. there were lost packets, if you sniff on the port your orion server is plugged into and you run orion debug you can verify if the packets are getting lost.
hope this helps

This is the code that was running
IOS (tm) c6sup2_rp Software (c6sup2_rp-JSV-M), Version 12.1(19)E1, EARLY DEPLOYM
ENT RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)
this is what we are at now
IOS (tm) c6sup2_rp Software (c6sup2_rp-JSV-M), Version 12.1(13)E10, EARLY DEPLOYMENT RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
hope this helps
if you do a
'show mac-address-table | include flood'
multiple times you may see macs flooding if you are running the 12.1(19)E1 code
let me know if this helps or you need more info
