Some Stats show up, most don't

Hi all.

First let me say that this forum has helped me with so many problems, that I have lost count.

But this is the first time I have posted a question to the forum, so please bear with me.

We are monitoring 3 OC-3 circuits on a Nortel Passport 8600. The interfaces show up in the Network Perfomance Console. When I try to look at the "Stats" such as "Total Bytes Transferred" or " Percent Utilization" I don't get any stats.

The "weird" thing is that I get stats in "Total PAckets Transmitted/Received" but no other category.

Any help on this would be great!

That's quite strange. I suggest that you verify that the Passport is updating the MIBs correctly. Using a MIB Browser (you can download a free 30 day version from solarwinds.net as part of the Engineer's Edition), view the IF-MIB:ifTable tree (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2) as see if ifInOctets and ifOutOctets is available and updating. If it not available, contact Nortel for an update to the Passport. If it is available, then I would suggest using SolarWind's "Real-Time Interface Monitor" to verfiy that the data is correct (we have found many agents that report randon or counting-down data in this MIB table). Orion will completely ignore incorrect data in this MIB table.
