Need to alert on the bash script....

Hi All,

I have been given one requirement to monitor the hardware status of Smart Storage Administrator. Now the challenge is there is no way to get any info from controller or any other component apart from running one script which gives multiple line output...

so is there any way to use default script monitors to achieve this?

Besides getting SRM which would be the best option you can create a universal device poller see this thwack article.

thanks but for using UnDP i need to add that SSA in SolarWinds right.. dont think thats possible since there is no way to set SNMP or anything...

Is it not possible to use existing script monitor which will give multiple lines output and then search from it?

You could send a syslog message to your SolarWinds NPM system from within your script and then create a syslog alert.

Google the 'Logger' command.

You could possibly build a sam script that calls your other existing script and then searches it's response and returns a formatted error count and messsage that sam would understand. Basically just a wrapper around the existing script.

its basically the below command which gives a very long output...
ssacli ctrl all show

From this i need to capture the critical word and alert out of it.. the output of this is not even stored in a file so thats where i m thinking how to get it done...
