Port down

I have a node that I have been managing with NPM and now want to start managing some of the ports on the node. How do i get NPM to email me when those parts of the node go up and down and not just the node itself.

I am sure you are monitoring this network node via SNMP and have selected the ports in question through "List Resources" under the Manage Nodes Section. With that said you will need to configure your SMTP Server settings and configure an alert to use the SMTP server to send you a message of your choosing. There should be some canned alerts to help you with this.

BTW, make sure you SMTP server will allow Solarwinds Server to send out messages.
