Frame Relay DLCI Monitoring

I am a long time user of Orion and have the following question in reference to our Frame Relay links.

FRAME RELAY:

Is there a way to list and monitor each PVC/DLCI on our Frame Relay links? I have up to 20 PVC's and the only real way to monitor each PVC is to use the Real Time Interface Monitor in my Engineers Toolset, which doesn't help for long term monitoring. Having the option in Orion to monitor and report on each PVC would help alot for traffic analysis and bandwidth utilization per each PVC.

FYI: This would be great as well for MPLS since carriers are using FRAME Relay as the transport for MPLS too.

After some good reading and research last night, it looks like I will have to get come Custom MIB Pollers going to get the DLCI information. I tried one site and got it to display the first DLCI, but i couldn't get the web interface to show all 35 DLCI's that I have on my T1. Any suggestions on how to configure custom mib poller to display all DLCI's onmy links?

Hi there Josh,

I think I understand your issue but have a few questions:

1. Are each of your DLCI's assigned to a sub-interface on the router T1? Example: serial1/0.6

2. Are you looking primarily for traffic statistics or frame relay specific details (FECN, BECN, etc...)?

While we have nowhere near the frame relay nightmare you seem to have we have all of our DLCI's bound to a sub-interface on the router allowing traffic monitoring of each DLCI. If you are looking for frame relay specific details then you will have to navigate the dark and murky waters of Custom MIB Pollers. If the avalanche of projects stops pummeling me in the near future I will take a crack at that side of the equation and let you know what I find.

All the DLCI's are assigned to one interface on a Verilink Wansuite 5160. I see all the MIBS/OIDs in the DB,but the stats im looking for only pulls it for the first DLCI 16. I will continue to be proactive and play around with MIB pollers.

I'm looking to pull stats on Active DLCI's, FECN/BECN as well as know when new DLCI's appear for new turn-ups.

I think I read something about it being very difficult to pull entire table data using custom mib's. They said in V9 it will be much easier.
