In this resource, we present information regarding VMDK orphans in VMWare environments.
But for VMAN, ALL -flat.vmdk and -rdmp.vmdk files NOT are orphans, that's not true.
There is something to correct this issue?
Is it possible that those files haven't been used in a long time? I agree that they shouldn't be offered up for deletion if they're critical but I wonder about the age and maybe it's just perceiving them as "orphan" for that reason.
The files listed are not old
In that case, that's definitely a problem! zackm - any thoughts here?
On mobile, so please forgive formatting...
I would first check to see if the pointer files and/or flat files are even in use anymore. Just because they're not old doesn't mean they're actually pointing to a Raw mapping (pointer) or still in use with a descriptor file (flat).
If you can verify that they are indeed still being used then I would open a ticket with support for further investigation.
