Application Monitor for a Linux server

I am trying to create an application monitor on a Linux server. I would like to be able to select the applications to monitor from the server. I believe this is in SAM settings- Create a new template- Component monitor. What component monitor do I choose for the Linux box that can give me the list of applications that live in that server. It's not an URL I need to monitor, instead an application.

Any help is appreciate it.

I don't think you can list the applications inside the server, instead you can list the processes.

SAM setting -> Component Monitor Wizard -> Process monitor(under Linux/Unix systems)
