We are monitoring our Cisco UBR10K CMTS' we want to know when a particular node has less than X% of modems online. We are monitoring all of the Cable interfaces off of the CMTS. We can see via custom pollers we can see #active modems, # of total modems registered. Using these two numbers we have Transform poller that give us the % of online modems. I have created 2 Alerts based off of the transform poller one alerts if less than 60% of modems online and 25% of modems online.
Both of these alerts work great but we have a few nodes that are Test or small nodes. A lot of these may have one modem offline but if there are only 2 modems in the cluster then it Alerts at less than 60% but we would rather not see those alerts. So I created a Complex Alert and said it must match the previous conditions but also the # of total modems registered must be greater than 10. No matter what I do my results vary from every single interface alerting or no interfaces alerting. I am begining to wonder if something is broke. I have verified that every condition is returning a number. I will put the alert below. Any help would be appreciated. I hope I explained this well.
