how do I monitor for a 403 that is the expected result and not an error!!

I know it sounds strange but I need to tag the response times from a page which will always error

the normal http monitor, even when telling it to look for 403 gives an error

suggestions?

I guess the best way to start is to ask why you are monitoring the webpage based on a 403 error? Does this have something to do with a web page that requires certain permissions? Can you create a login that will allow Orion to pull the correct webpage?

It is kind of hard to explain - it is not a 'login' issue more that every result requires a unique and known token so there is no way to do this.

I want to monitor the response time of the page return - not worried about the page contents or if it is an 403 or not.

Hopefully that makes sense?!

I get what you are trying to do. I have a load balancer that I needed to write custom poller for in order to get it to do the same thing.

How ever I do not think that the APM software allows for this kind of exception. I am not sure if you could write a custom poller, but last I looked there was no way to tell the system that a 403 error is acceptable.

Have you considered writing a script monitor that leverages wget or repurpose theExchange 2010 OWA Form Login (PowerShell) template as an example of how to invoke an HTTP request with Internet Explorer using PowerShell.
