Looking for MIB to pull stats from printers

I would like to try and use Orion to pull stats from my printers and alert on specified traps. Most of the trap stuff I can see a way to set up but I would like to pull printer stats to track usage, paper tray setting/changes, and toner messages. Has anyone done this successfully?

I use mostly HP and Kyocera printers/copiers.

you probably want to use APM for that, not NPM.

You may also want to look at the Universal Device Poller

If you use universal device poller, you can enter the following MIBs to get what you are looking for:

1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.4.2.1.4.1.10.1.1.11 = legal pages remaining

1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.4.2.1.4.1.10.1.1.12 = leter pages remaining

1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.4.2.1.4.1.10.1.1.13 = executive pages remaining

1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.4.2.1.4.1.10.1.1.14 = envelope remaining

1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.4.2.1.4.1.10.1.1.18 = Black Toner remaining

I have not created the UDPs yet but when i do. I will post them here and also in Content Exchange. I will also try to create some reports based on the above UDPs and post them here and in Content Exchange as well.

These work on an HP Laserjet 4250dtn. I have not tested any others yet.

Check out the printer MIB to get more detailed list of stats you can pull from the devices (most vendors) that support this MIB.

I dont have APM and no budget money this year.

So I am trying to make it work with what I have - Orion 9.5

I use this oid for the printer display. 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.1.1.3.0. I then have an alert set up for when it displays that it's time for printer maintenance. You could also set it up for low toner, out of paper, or any other display messages.

I also use 1.3.6.1.2.1.43..10.2.1.4 for total page count.

Edit: By the way, these are for HP printers.
