To avoid the obvious answer of "uninstall the updates", I say that I work for a company that has a partially outsourced IT department. We rarely see eye to eye, and they think as long as THEY are working fine, nothing is ever broken. Last month, our outsourcer installed the following updates on out Exchange 2007 server running on Windows 2003:
1.Security Update for Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition (KB2653956) - MS12-024
2. Update for Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition (KB2641690)
3. Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition (KB2675157) - MS12-023
4. Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP for x64-based Systems (KB2656369) - MS12-025
5. Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 on Windows XP, Server 2003, Vista, and Server 2008 for x64 (KB2656370) - MS12-025
6. Update for Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition (KB2633952)
Since then, I periodically get interfaces showing up in Solarwinds NPM 10.2.2 as "Unknown". Since our outsourcer does not see any issue with their monitoring and SNMP seems to be working on the Exchange server, they are unwilling to do anything with the updates to fix it.
Where can I start troubleshooting? Is anyone else having this issue? I've read a little about it here but the suggeted things to try don't seem to apply to me.
Thanks in advance,
