Application Monitoring Advanced Alerts don't work

I have Advanced Alerts that say that if the host matches a certain custom property criteria and the application is not equal to application is running send an alert and the alert is not triggering.

This is 8.1.  We will upgrade to 8.5 soon, but I want to see if there is something I need to be aware of in Application Monitoring that I may be doing wrong.

Here's the kicker.  When I first configured the alerts they did work.  Now they don't.   I don't know what could have changed.

I talked to Garrison in support about this and I discovered that the issue is related to the alert suppression settings.  I had two alert suppression settings that stated don’t send the alert if the node status is down or node status is unmanaged.  It appears that the alert suppression settings are not specific to the node being checked, but global to the entire system.  This means that any node that is down or any node that is set to unmanaged will cause the alert to be suppressed. 

The fix was to delete the Alert Suppression settings and add two more settings to the alert trigger that state Node Status is not Down and Node Status is not Unmanaged.
