Unable to build a logic for the Alert

Hi Gurus,

I have a customer alert, where if any node reboots i get a alert but there are few nodes which if it reboots i dont want any alert. I want to exclude those nodes from the reboot alert.

I don't want to mute all the alerts from those node just i want to exclude those nodes from the reboot alert. I have attached the screenshot of the logic but it is not working.

Any help is highly appreciated. I have attached the Screenshot of the logic.

Does not contain on the alert condition is not a great idea, it becomes more cumbersome to manage, I would follow the below process:

1. Create a Node custom attribute, Generic: True/False or Generic: which takes 'text' to keep your custom attribute count less(I have seen people creating multiple custom attributes and do not use them well, hence try to keep it as simple and clean as possible). 'Note: Use Generic:'Text' rather than Generic: True/False as this attribute can be reused in multiple places like alerts/reports/views etc and you can as well use this on multiple alerts, where alert conditions are totally different.

For example if you dont want reboot alert you can have a value like say NoRebootAlert, if you dont want CPU alerts then you could say NoCPUAlert etc... as i said you can always reuse this the way you want.

2. Once the custom attribute is created change the value to 'Generic: False' OR 'Generic: NoRebootAlert' on each of the devices in your environment and use this in your alert condition. (Do it in bulk via Export/Import).

3. Scope of the alert -> Select -> Only following Set of Objects and create a condition there stating ---> 'Node:Generic:equal:True' OR 'Node:Generic:doesnotcontain/notequalto:NoRebootAlert' (this should restrict all devices that you don't want to alert on).

4. Continue with your alert condition as usual and enable it.

To start with go to settings -> Manage nodes -> search for your node that you want to exclude from your alert - > select that and click on edit properties

*Enter the value on the new custom attribute (say the custom attribute that i created is 'comments') you just need to specify a value like say : 'NoAlert' , in the below example i am excluding 'AWS-Brazil WPM Player' node from the alert, hence i edit properties of this node go to 'Comments' attribute and enter 'NoAlert' on that node and Save it.

*Once you have updated the value on your custom attribute 'Comments' for the node that you want to exclude from the alert, create a reboot alert - in reboot alert specify the condition which will exclude all nodes that is not required , see the trigger condition we are excluding all nodes which has Comments=NoAlert in the below example, the alert will only be applicable for all nodes within your environment where Comments!=NoAlert

Note:

If you have too many nodes and cant do this edit properties change manually, then use the bulk method, read through the below information on how to do it in bulk rather than each and every node manually
