ActiveX error 429

I get an ActiveX error 429 while running the configuration wizard. I tried registering the sqldmo.dll like in the support page to no avail. Any ideas?

Do you have Cirrus installed on the same box? If so, try to register this dll ->

From a run prompt type in regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Common\SWDiscoveryServices8.dll"

already tried that to no avail

also registered sqldmo.dll

Still no luck

Try going into Add/Remove Programs and running the 'Repair' option for your Orion installation and if that does not work you might consider a re-install then :-(

tried the repair and the re-install...still no change

This is why I'm a network guy and not a server guy

I get the same error and the CatTools (3.7.0) service is set up to start up automatically, yet it keeps starting and then stopping with "ActiveX component can't create object" in module CatToolsMan.frm (line 140). This is on one of two domain controllers set up with the same default domain controllers group values set, so it seems like a local setting and not a group one. Is it an advanced IE setting involving ActiveX?
