Advanced Alert Setup

I have a question regarding Alert manager. How do you setup an alert so that it sends an email when disk space usage reaches 90%? I would think that this task would be simple. I have browsed through the NPM Admin guide and can't seem to figure this out. Thanks!!!!

Open your advanced alert manager

Go to the Trigger Condition tab

Choose Volume under the Type of Property to Monitor

The rest should be pretty straight forward, below is a screenshot of how I have it set

First open the Advanced Alert Manager (Start > Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Alerting, Reporting and Mapping > Advanced Alert Manager). Click on 'Configure Alerts' button. Click on 'New'. Give the Alert a name and then click on the 'Trigger Condition' tab. Change the 'Type of Property to Monitor' from Node to Volume. Click on Add > Simple Condition and define the condition as the following:

           Trigger Alert when ALL of the following apply
           Volume Percent Used is greater than 89

An option would be to add a second simple condition so that it reads:

           Trigger Alert when ALL of the following apply
           Volume Percent Used is greater than 89
           VolumeType is equal to Fixed Disk

This would limit the alert to only your fixed disk drives and other volume types, like memory and removable disks will not be alerted on.

Following the definition on the Trigger condition, define the Reset condition as being the opposite of the Trigger:

           Trigger Alert when ALL of the following apply
           Volume Percent Used is less than or equal to 89
           VolumeType is equal to Fixed Disk

...And finally complete the alert configuration by defining the time of day (typically left at the default 24/7) and Actions tabs.
