I am planning to use Appinsight for SQL template to monitoring SQL DBs... but i dont see option to make a copy and only enable the component monitors that we really need...so any possible way to do that?
Appinsight templates are different from standard application monitor templates. The monitors work together. You do have the option to disable monitoring certain databases.
The appinsight applications are mostly blackbox and not editable.
You can edit the app once it's assigned -> expand component by clicking the + -> if it has an option to disable then it is disablable. (only processes and service monitors)
You can assign the appinsight for sql application then click into specific databases -> unmanage databases you do not want to monitor
If you are trying to save on component monitors using load on your environment then you'll want to create a custom template to monitor similar metrics that the appinsight for sql already does or you can find a customer built custom template on thwack.

yes i do see that option.. and i have Node based licensing so i m not really bothered about license..
but just that if option was to use only what we need, then it becomes more easier...
