Is there a variable that can be used in my email message from my alert for interface 'average Xmit+Recv Percent Utilization' that communicates this value which triggered the email?

Would the ${InPercentUtil} and ${OutPercentUtil} macros be sufficient?

Because almost all circuits are full duplex Xmit + Recv doesn't provide useful information.
