we monitor a significant ammount of switches and users will reboot or power off thier machines at night etc... causing the interfaces to go down. My question is what does Orion do on interfaces that are DOWN. When I ask this I am meaning does Orion till try to pull IFoctet stats and error stats and packet in/out stats on this interface even if it is in a down status. Currently we monitor over 5300 interfaces out of which a good 2000 are down. I am hoping that if Orion received and IFOperStatus of DOWN for an interface that it would just simply skip to the next interface.
So basically I am asking what is the mechanics within Orion for this situation.
