Good - network map for Large screen display? Is it just not possible with this map maker?

I have done everything I can think of to get a good map to display on a big screen for a NOC, and also even on my display.

The maps just look lousy given the lack of good icons, etc.  I am fine doing it in visio and dropping "dots" on the items or a pad below them, but even that doesn't look good given that when I save the map to a jpg or gif it looks lousy.

Anyone have some good map examples or anything they would be willing to share or advice on using visio and then dropping that as a background in terms of how to get it to "look" good like it does in visio?

What would the output options be for a GIF, JPG in terms of "screen or source", quality?

virtualu2, If you create WMF files (Vectorized?) graphics and drop them into the Icons subfolder in the Orion installation folder, you'll be able to assign these to map objects.  That being said, I find it really unstable on how consistently Orion's map maker chooses to scale any icon, but if you're careful and make use of the manual x/y positional and size text fields you can make some highly accurate maps with custom icons.

I've used the Cisco packet icons from cisco.com on a few diagrams - I'll see if I can dig one up as an example when I'm back in the office tomorrow.
