So I have been testing the SolarWinds Desktop Notification Tool to get audible alerts working on one of our networks. Is this thing even reliable??
I configured an alert to theoretically play a sound when an alert triggers. I watch it in the Alert Manager and see the alert come in but watching the SolarWinds Desktop Notification Tool at the same time the alerts randomly appear, some play the audible, some don't (same alert). Some times it can be minutes before it populates, if at all. I am using the default polling for the alerts and desktop tool.
I am either missing something here or this is not ready for prime time yet. (Yes, I have Googled and searched for tons of info on this and tried all suggestions so far).
Anyone using this successfully?
