How did you set your alerts?

Hi just want to ask SW user and admin if how is the best way to set alerts from the alert manager, I know there are several ways to do it but what do you think is the best?

1. Alerts when a node rebooted
2. Alerts when a node goes down
3. Alerts when an interface goes down
4. Alerts when node has high packet loss
5. Alerts when HIGH memory utilizations ( I think Orion NPM adds up physical and virtual memory to determine it's utilization, how can I set it to check only for physical memory?)

Thats kind of a vague question. I think it really depends on what you're alerting on. Do you want to be notified when a device is down hard or unreachable, an interface is down, a custom poller is unavailable? It totally depends on what you are concerned about.

By the way, by default, NPM logs an event if a device reboots
