HP 2530-48 wrong Machine Type "HP Switch"

Q1: How can I get Solarwinds to view the following:

Machine Type: Procurve Switch 2530-48G-PWR

I have 2530-24G-PWR that are identified correctly. However, I have all my 2530-49G-PWR only being identified as HP Switch.

Q2: How can I get Solarwinds to view the Software Version and Software Image of my HP Switches?

Generally, when Solarwinds gets anything wrong on your Node Details you will need to set up a custom poller, they have a video explaining how to set them up here:

One of the things the video doesn't explain as well is how to find out the OID you need to set it to.  Unless you can find someone in a forum or somewhere in documentation to tell you the OID you need for your device you will need to perform a MIB walk on one of those switches, NPM comes with a basic mibwalk tool included and there is slightly fancier version if you bought the Engineers Toolkit,

Anyway, once you have the walk the fastest thing is just to search the results and find the OID that has the info you are looking for, like the detailed model number or software versions.  Take those OID's, set them up in a custom poller and you are all set.
