Alert Engine not sending traps - Permissions Error
CourtLukens
We have Orion configured to send SNMP traps to an internally produced trap logger. I don't know the exact timeline, but it seems that after upgrading to ver 7.8.5, Orion stopped sending traps. During the upgrade we did move the database off the local Orion server onto another clustered SQL server. Although if there is some misconfiguration on the permissions in the database, I'm not finding it...but I'm no SQL guru. When I go to test fire an SNMP message, I get the following error:
There was an error opening the Orion Alert Engine
Cannot connect to OrionAlertEngine.AlertEngine.
Permission denied
The Alert Engine Log is giving me a whole bunch of these:
Error Opening Database - [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
Extra Info - Native Error 0
Number -2147467259
Source Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
SQL State
adStatus 2
Anyone seen this before?
