I have been providing an uptime report to one of our customers for several months, and am finally being asked to explain why it reports the way it does.
Many of their devices do not report 100% availability, yet the only issues noted in the event log are reboots which I presume are affecting the availability percentage. However, I see one server that reports 99.99% availability w/ 3 reboots and another server that shows 99.98% availability with one reboot. No other events were reported for either server.
Can anyone explain what is going on so that I can accurately explain it to my customer?
