Slow map refresh

hi,

on the front screen of my Orion, all th sections load quick, but the map (picture) takes a while to load, it does this irrelavant of the content, whether it has lost of icons, size of picture.

is there bug? or a way to increase the speed?

the server isn't under much load, and doesnt runn 100% while it's trying to load

Spiky, what version are you on? In 10.1.1 we made some additional tweaks to performance for maps. Also, do you have real time anti-virus scanning on the Orion server? If yes, the exclude the inetpub directory. Also with 10.0 there is a setting if you edit the map to show cache version of map till new map is ready

Our NPM home page has the same issue. Everything else loads quickly, then the map loads a few seconds later, sometimes its up to 10 secs later.

Mine was slow before sp2, but seems a little faster since the upgrade.

Mine was slow when I had 9.5 SP1. I finally upgraded to SP2 and the hotfix and it is just a second or 2 after the rest of the screen comes up before the map appears. A lot better performance now.

Best bet is to open a support ticket to look into. We have fixed many issues with the SP's and if you are still seeing issues, might be something environmental or another defect.

I also have the same issue since upgrading to 9.5 SP 4. Map load times are far slower that pre 9.5. This seems to be a problem for most people. The problem has almost made this product unusable. I have logged several tickets and have tried several fixes. Since maps went into the dtaabase its much slower. This needs to be be fixed asap. Has anyone else found a fix?

Map performance is criminal. It makes the whole system much less useable. Map load times are reason enough to downgrade to 9.1.x

I had slow web responses, but they improved when I removed the external link to Thwack.

They improved again when I stacked sub-maps under maps and made the top level map much simpler. I try to get around 20 elements on a map now, even if they then call maps with more detail.
