Universal Device Poller with Equallogic SAN

I am looking for some guidance on how to get some information from my Equallogic array.

I am trying to get numbers from the Array distribution across the members. i have 3.

I have found the information that I want but it is not pretty.

Equallogic Volume Member Distribution814012722.20.369290397	124170
Equallogic Volume Member Distribution814012722.20.814012722	222150
Equallogic Volume Member Distribution814012722.20.1751816782	63285

The first number refers to the LUN and the Second to the Member.

So 814012722.20 = DataLUN1 and 369290397 = EQLMember1 with a size of 124170MB on that member.

Is there a way to cross reference these values to get information that is usable at a glance?

My other method of getting this information would be to use the OID down to the LUN level and create a different poller for each LUN.

any advice would be appreciated.

Did you ever get anywhere with polling device data from EqualLogic?

Hi,

if you would like to poll data via OID you can create Universal device poller that get the information from the device.

- You will need to contact device vendor or search to get the exact OIDs. You may also look in "Browse MIB Tree".

- Assign it to node, from which you want to get the data.

- To display it on the web you can mark checkbox in Table, Chart or Gauge column in "Node details - Summary page" row. It will be available on the bottom of the page of the node that you have assigned it to.

Can you please describe more in detail what should the result look like?

Thank you very much for your reply.

I am not looking for anything fancy, just need to know when my SAN hard disk have failed or when they are running out of space. Dell SAN has got it's own management SAN HQ environment, but I just though to consolidate everything in SolarWinds. But by the look of it it is probably very tedious process to configure all this for 100+ individual hard disks on SAN.

I have been talking to SolarWinds support, and they have suggested Storage Manage Monitor product.
