Restricting access to a group of Devices to a single user

Hi,

I have multiple users I have created a group of Test Devices that I dont want anyone else to have displayed as devices that can be seen in orion, I know I can limit users access to devices by adding a particular group so that is all they see but what I woud like to do is have a bunch of devices only I can see rather than the other way round. Is this possible if so how?

You would need to create a custom property for those particular nodes and then build an account limitation. Set the custom property to be something like everyone and assign it to all the nodes you want everyone to see and then on the test nodes set it to something like test.

You can also do it by simply selecting the nodes in question but I prefer the group membership method.

I tried selecting the nodes in question and setting a n account limitation which works for that user but everyone else can still see the node.

If I create a custom property and add some detail to the custom property and then build an account limitation but everyone else can still see the node am I doing something wrong?

I dont want these paticular nodes to be seen by anyone other than the administrator or an account I specify

One thing that always gets me is that if you do the preview...regardless of what view you are testing it will be previewed with the rights of the user logged in.

What I mean is if you create a view and in that view you say that user a can't see device b and you preview that you will be looking at things through your view not user a.

Just want to be sure that your users are actually still seeing the devices and not simply when you are doing a preview.

No it was logged in a a different user not using preview, where do you set that only user A can see a device, I can see the setting saying user a can only see device a, b,c etc but I cant see where you can set so device a,b,c etc can only be seen by a particular user?
