Hi All,
Getting error for .NET 4.8 not present on Backup server(HA poller). Although its already there, any reason why its stating that?
I'd ask Solarwinds Support about that first. But I've had upgrades stall until I manually verified the right version of .NET was present, and then (with Solarwinds Support's blessings) I clicked the "ignore this message" during the install process, and everything proceeded without issue.
@rschroeder is there a ignore button available? i didnt find it anywhere
Your best bet is to work with Solarwinds Technical Support by opening a ticket with them, but I've found in past upgrades an option to ignore the message/warning about the right version of .NET not detected on an APE during an upgrade. Perhaps it shows as a simple "Continue" button instead of an "Ignore Warning" button. I haven't run the latest 2020 upgrade, and cannot confirm the option is present there.
I also saw the ".NET 4.8 not present" warning on the deployment health checks, even though we manually confirmed that it was installed on all servers. Our last upgrade (2019.4) proceeded fine in spite of this. In our case, (I am 90% sure) the reason that the checks failed is because our security policies disable the Remote Registry service, so the primary polling engine was not able to check the version.
@rschroeder Thanks.. let me check as i did not find any way to move ahead
@sturdyerde did u get option to ignore or u did something else?
It will pop up as a warning in the pre-installation health check but you can proceed anyway if you are sure the servers have .NET 4.8 installed.
