Hi all,
Hoping someone else that has Aruba thin APs and 7240 controllers (if in an HA setup then all the better) can help me understand. We want to enable alerting on a thin ap alert coming from the controllers (aka WLC) but not 100% clear on what I'm seieng, nor where I should see it. To set the scene: I have a pet AP I can enable / diable its switch interface at will so not affectign any live use. If I log on to the relevant controller and narrow my viewpoint to just that of this site and its APs I can see my test unit plus two other AP's:
If I then disable its attached AP, I duly see the 'Test_AP' go offline and I can see an associated alert appear in Events:

However, in both 'All Active Alerts' and 'Message Center' I only see AP01 at the same site referenced. This AP does not at any point go offline

At no point do I see a message for the 'Test_AP' appear. After resetting the interface and seeing the AP return to service on the controller and given time, then the above message in active alerts & message center disappears. Which is understandable for the active alerts but not the MC.
So can anyone help me understand what I'm seeing or why? Is it our setup, my understanding or something else?
Also, once it has alerted, then surely I should be able to see a reference to it in the message center at all times?
