vCenter 6.5 Integration

Hi everyone,

We have NPM 12.0.1, and IVIM 2.1.2 in addition to other SW products. We are currently deploying a vCenter 6.5 server and cannot connect to it. Like in another post all we get is the "Test Failed. Cannot login with selected vCenter or ESX Credential".

Has anyone else had these issues? Is there a particular version of NPM and IVIM that I need to have in order for this to work? Or is there a different credential setup?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It automatically upgraded to VIM 7.1

IVIM and Orion Core are components of the NPM and SAM modules. If either NPM or SAM have been upgraded, IVIM and Orion Core will also get updated. see more here

Now, if you to wanna to manager your VCenter you need, and with this tools you can integrat Orion server.

Thanks for the reply and I understand that upgrading one will perform an upgrade to IVIM and Orion Core, but the question is centered around vCenter 6.5. I am currently monitoring my vCenter 5.5 and 6.0 instances just fine. I currently have four different vCenters and they all work. My issue is with vCenter 6.5 and my inability to monitor it. Something changed with 6.5 and it's not just simply using the same type of account with the same kind of rights.

Yes, I had the same issues with vCenter 6.5 I was told that IVIM was replaced by VIM 7.1 with NPM 12.1. VIM 7.1 fully supported vCenter 6.5 as soon as I did my upgrade last week I was able to connect to and monitor vCenter 6.5

So just to confirm, the recommendation was to upgrade to NPM 12.1 correct? Does that automatically add VIM7.1 or did you also have to install that too?
