Additional poller woes - can not uninstall to upgrade NCM

Hi forum

just went through upgrade of my system NPM with 6 pollers, NCM, and all the other modules

the new Solarwinds activation rubbish is getting in the way again. the NPM and poller upgrades have not gone bad to be honest, usual buggy rubbish, but i got through them with old fixes and new. however, one of the problem i have is that the new NCM can not longer sit on the same server as an additional ;poller. so

- i have built a new poller

- migrated all nodes to it in manage nodes

- tried to uninstall the poller software by uninstalling all of the items in add/remove programs

i can not uninstall apm, ipsla or NTA for some reason, random errors

i try to update NCM, and it tells me Solarwinds core is not activated... duh!! it is uninstalled. i have re-licensed NCM as it is quite old, but can not get the upgrade to run as it thinks core is not activated..

pain in the bum SW, can u sort?

this is going to sound wierd but i think you will have to re-install NPM to be able to un-install any of the rest.

APM, IP SLA, NTA all of these ride on top of NPM so you will need to un-install them prior to taking NPM off.

as far as NCM is concerned if you installed it and made it interact with the NPM server then when you took off NPM you killed the CORE that NCM will be looking for. Hope this helps.

Hi .

You can clean up the "Modules" from the register find and delete the whole folder . This will remove from the "Add / Remove" Programs and you will be able to install as clean installation .

- You will need to delete the whole folder as per screen shot .

- Cleaning Registry at your own risk

- Make a backup of Registry before

Remember to clean every thing so keep pressing "Find Next" until it reach end of the register for each module you are unable to uninstall . There may be more then one entries .

Once done refresh your "add / Remove" program and this will be removed from there as well.
