Monitoring NON-SNMP Devices

Question

I am sure this is an easy question, but I can't seem to find the answer.... Does Solarwinds support netconf messaging or streaming events from a secure web socket where the events / alarms are in JSON format?

If not out of the box, can this be done by custom integration?

Adding to cnorborg​'s comment about the SDK, if I was going to undertake this mission I would start by digging into the docs for any of the open source tools that the various task forces around telemetry have put together to subscribe to and receive the streams.  You are going to have to build something that takes the data those tools ingest and then forces the relevant metrics into the orion database.  I expect that will require you to spend a lot of time in SQL looking through the tables and stored procedures to understand how the application gets the data to go in, and how you can add you data inline with the rest of it. I think that would be a fairly significant effort by itself, and nobody I have ever talked to has gone so far as to document any of that underlying SQL data.

Once you get that all sorted out then I imagine you just start by creating ICMP only versions of the nodes you want stats for and then have your tool just start pushing the data in and associating it with your node id.  Maybe someone else has a more simple approach but that's how I expect it would work unless you are thinking of something that isn't really "in" orion and just runs next door to it.
