Which Application Monitor Templates best to use or combined together whilst minimizing email alerts?

Hi People,

I wonder what's the best practice or the suggested Application Monitor Templates to combine for monitoring Active Directory servers?

I have got 16 Windows Server 2016 running AD domain controllers and FSMO role is installed in just one Virtual Machine.

Unfortunately, my available SAM license is not allowing me to monitor 16 of them.

What would be your suggestion?

My requirements are:

Monitoring when the Active Directory services are down.
Monitoring the AD replication issue.
Monitoring & alerting for non-responsive AD domain controllers, which impact DHCP & DNS functionality.

You can apply any of the AD Application monitors (other that Appinsight for AD) to a node and them delete components from that monitor.

Yes, in the AppInsight, what is the impact when some of the components that are part of the AD AppInsight is disabled or not enabled?

I assume license wise it would still consume 50 SAM license.

You are correct. AppInsight monitors are not affected by disabling built-in components.
