Syslog and Trap Alerts displayed in the WebGUi or Console Alerts

Question

we have a process in our company were all the alerts get reviewed (the significant ones anyway) and I would like to request an action be added in the Alerts configuration to display the Alert on the console where it can be ack'd by a human or by the reciept of a clearing trap or message.  Also provide the option to keep the acked alerts on the GUI or auto remove them after 1 hr or a selectable option.

Ya I know, I just want to give management a single place to go look at what is going on.  They like to put up the WebGUI and have rolling console. Based on this, a auto refresh option with a timer would be good, 5min - 60min selectables.   I do not want this killing the db and other parts of the system.

Agreed, this is something we need too.

Having the SysLog Messages and SNMP Traps views in fine but it would be nice to be able to trigger an alert based on these messages and traps which would generate the alert in the Active Alerts section.

We're in the process of outsourcing the monitoring of our Orion instance due to a global project so we need very fine control over what triggers and alert and what doesn't as we have a dollar value attached to every alert triggered.

Actually, I am bringing back the same point of being made in

My goal is being able to select Alerts from the Syslog and Trap Logs and display them on the Alerts page.

I am thinking this could be done by adding a trigger action in the alert setup. Then the NOC will clear the alert when the issue is resolved.

My alerts would be to the Alert Page and sending a mail/page.

This puts all of the common events that need to be reviewed on a single page.

I may be missing something.  You can acknowledge alerts from the web console.
