First of all, apologies if already covered, search results did not bring up what i am looking for.
so to my question. I need to amend the 'hostname' used by the Unix agent, be it by passing a parameter in the install command line or re-configuration of a conf file once installed.
Unfortunately the company I am working at has the majority of their Unix servers reporting back localhost:localdomain.. not very helpful on the dashboard I am sure you will agree. Typically when i install other UNIX agent types, I am able to pass over-riding parameters during the install after i have resolved the server name by means of a reference file i use, or i update a conf file once installed. All this is done as part of an installation script.
Hoping somebody can point me in the right direction.
