How do I configure a Cisco m9100 switch to allow polling?

I need to monitor some Cisco NX-OS(tm) m9100 switches attached to EMC SAN but they currently will not respond to ping or SNMP polls.

Has anyone got a simple guide on how to configure the switches?

Has NPM got the MIB loaded and what information can I expect to pull back?

Any guidance would be appreciated.
