Any method or mechanism to ditch web based alerting and go back to advanced alert manager?
As a followup, there is still a method to return to advanced alert manager, posted here in case someone else wishes to hold off until web alerts are a little better implemented.
From my support ticket:
"To use the switch, in the URL field, changed the syntax to "Your local host or IP of server"/Orion/Alerts/Manage/NewAlertingDisable.aspx.If you click Disabled and choose to have "Enable Specific Alert Definition Revert" this will switch to the Alert Service Version 1.The checkbox "Enable Specific Alert Definition Revert" will cause to show a "Revert to original AAM Definition" button in the "Manage Alerts". This button deletes the new definition and enables the old one from which the new was created by migration."
From what I've seen so far, any alerts created with web alert manager will have to be manually recreated in AAM.
