Do you lose historical data if you change a device name in NPM? Does it affect other modules such as NTA and UDT? Thanks!
No, at least not in my experience. The only way I've lost historical data was when I deleted a device from Solarwinds.
in short, changing the device name only changes the display name in the database, it has no affect on the 'NodeID' in the database. The 'NodeID' is the key to all historical data, corrupt that and you'll loose all historical data.
