Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Importing Data for Graphs
patwill66
Is there a way in Orion to pull historical information from an interface that is no longer monitored? Here are my two situations.
Back in October I had one router that did both VPN and internet. I then broke off the functionality onto separate routers, so one router now was internet only and one was VPN only. The VPN router kept the same IP addresses as before so nothing in Orion had to change for that router. The internet router now is a new device in Orion and all the traffic statistics started fresh the day of installation. I have a years worth of data for my internet circuit on the outside interface of my VPN router and only data from October on the outside interface of the new internet router. I want to be able to move the data that reflects the internet traffic from the now VPN router over to the new internet router's outside interface. This way I can pull graphs on my internet circuit from the past year without having to get two graphs. I am sure this is possible in SQL but I think this would be a great feature to have built into Orion.
I have another similar situation where I had two internet circuits on one router. I then got a second router and moved the second internet circuit over to this second router. I would like to be able to move the historical data as well. I was recently asked for a graph of information for the last six months on that specific interface but about two months ago is when I moved that circuit to a new router. I have two months of data on the new router but no data from the previous four months because that was on a different interface on a different router.
If there is no way to do what I am asking in Orion, this might be a good feature to add in an upcoming release.

Yes, this is one way to do it. Like I said, I know its possible to do in SQL manually, it would just be cool to be able to do in Orion, or have some type of automated tool that could help.
