Dependencies administration issue - deps require Orion Admin privileges.

I would think it was intended for Dependencies to be managed by folks with Node Management privileges, not full Admin rights.

As of 10.1.2, it's Admin-only locked. I verified this against multiple users, and the behavior is consistent.

Barring some sort of work-around that doesn't involve flagging them with Admin=1, is there any chance you guys could include this in a timely fix?

It's severely hampering the node administration delegation effort at the moment.

Yeah, I would have imagined it would have stood out. Soon as I can get the beta environment going, I'll start trying to get these requests out to y'all pre-RC/Release.

On that note.. Are we talking Major Version, Point Release, or SP? Of course, I wish you guys would rush out a hotfix like yesterday, but I realize that's not necessarily reasonable. I'm trying to foist off the bio-automation of the group/dependency creation onto the customer node provisioning guys. I have been directed to stay out of the SDK for this particular problem, so it's a little bit of a tough spot, and quite honestly, a request I would have never thought in a million years I'd be making, but we can't afford the dev overhead to hack it in with perl-DBI at the moment.

This is more directed toward SolarWinds folks, but as of 10.2 and the latest versions / updates, it does not appear that this ability was added.

Is there any update to this item - Having "Node Management" rights allowing for managing dependencies, as it is a very needed feature?

...Because unfortunately there are far too many items like this, where there is a direct tie / functions related to a portion of management (such as for nodes/devices), yet the current security controls of Orion [NPM] don't allow this flexibility and thus practically everyone has to be a full Administrator, thus giving far greater rights than what you'd want, especially in IT environments where there are separate groups for specific areas & division of control for security & responsibility purposes.

Perhaps a better question is - When will Orion have the ability to give granular security / access to the various functions contained within a given module, specifically NPM, which has had everything else "bolted" on to it? APM falls into the above category right now it seems too - To essentially administer it, you must have full Administrator rights in NPM. In fairness, there are a few newer modules that do offer some granular control within them (IPAM for instance), but that granularity needs to come back around to the base product.
