Default alert/action for application templates or monitors?

Can anyone tell me which default action or alert posts to the NetPerfMon event log? I am trying to trim out some of the event fodder and even after disabling all actions and most of the alerts I'm still getting a lot of the "up and down" status' for the applications.

I don't believe there's any way to trim that out. There are events that are going to be naturally interesting to NPM and those are going to wind up in the logs (e.g., node/interface/volume/app/component status changes). The "Write Entry to NetPerfMon Event Log" alert action is meant to augment that with things that only you would know about like a custom bandwidth alert on your WAN devices. Your best bet is to create a report that trims out the values you don't want so you only see what you do if you're trying to put it in front of someone who will be confused by the extra information.

The problem is that the generic event that SolarWinds posts creates a lot of clutter in the events and if I have an alert created I end up getting three or four posts per event multiple that times the number of servers the event is occurring on. Due to the quantity of application monitors I have, I can easily have 50+ events in a matter of minutes. When I create a custom alert for a monitor I don't need the system posting as well, the ability to disable or modify the default event would be optimal.
