Monitoring V92 Modem usage
FormerMember
I have a cisco 1800 router with a dsl primary connection and a dialup connection for backup. If select to monitor the FA1 and Async port to monitor, the Async port will always show down until the routers has a failure on FA1 and the router dials up the Async port.
----------------------------------------------------
Here is the problem. When setup like this, the router will always be in the "Nodes with Problems" section of the NetPerMon web page.
I am trying to find a work around so I don't have to monitor the async port just to get an alert when the modem connects. We can't have the router show ip in the "nodes with problems" area if the modem is not in use. If I can poll the node somehow and do snmp gets to the OID of the async interface. I was thinking is I could do this somehow in an alert and sent email with the async modem connects.
Thanks
