Behind a firewall

Question

Hey Guys/Girls,

I have a firewall sitting between my production STM server and a windows proxy agent.  On the agent side I have a VNX5200, 19 node Isilon cluster and a segregated VMware environment.  I want to add a linux agent to that side of the house to handle the NAS shares for file analysis on the Isilon cluster.  Do I have to open ports between this new linux agent to the STM server or can I pass data from the linux agent to the windows proxy agent?  Hope this made sense.

Thanks to Rey from solarwinds,

"Unfortunately you cannot point an agent to connect to another agent.  You will have to have it connect directly to the main STM server.  This will require you to open ports on the firewall to all it to connect."
