Application Alert That Specifies Component Name

Okay, my first foray into the 'new' (new to me prior to last year) alerting in SAM is making my head spin......

I would like to alert on an application template that has several components associated with it.  How can I specify in the alert, not only what application template the alert has fired off for, but also which component is faulting?  I'd rather have the details in the text rather than rely on having recipients having to click through links in the alert email to find out.
